Making of Taiwan Bell Fruit

This video tutorial I use a image-based modeling software: 3dsom Pro to make Taiwan bell fruit. By using 3dsom Pro, you can create 3d model/texture of bell fruit by taking about 20 number of photos of the bell fruit. After generate model/texture in 3dsom Pro, I export to 3ds max 7 and apply Finalrender Wet material, set up three point lights and render iwth Finalrender stage-1.

The Beetles Collection

This is one of my first complete project. After partecipating to the hardcore modelling challenge on CGTALK which was almost all inorganic, I wanted to model something organic, trying to use splines and also later I needed to use Zbrush to detail a bit the particulars and to render them less "flat". Texturing part was very intensive too since it required a lot of tweaking and patience in photoshop. With this project you'll learn to model from splines, converting to editable poly and then using additional modifiers such as shapemerge to add detail to basic shapes. We start by setting up blueprints and then model each individual part of the mp3 player piece by piece. Once that is done we go on to texturing this in a realistic way, the we apply shaders to increase the realism further. Finally we set up a convincing 'studio' light setup using mental ray and render the final images.
